Privacy Policy - Campus of purpose

Privacy With Purpose

Last Updated: AUGUST 1, 2026

Girls Save The World™ respects the privacy of the young people, families, educators, mentors, volunteers, partners, and other community members who interact with us.

This Privacy Policy describes how Girls Save The World™ and the Campus of Purpose-OS™ collect, use, protect, and manage personal information through our websites, digital platform, programs, events, applications, and related services.

Because some of our programs serve minors, we believe privacy deserves particular care.

Our guiding principle is:

Collect with purpose. Protect with intention. Share thoughtfully.

Information We May Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with GSTW and may include:

Account and contact information: such as name, preferred name, email address, username, and other information needed to create or manage an account.

Student eligibility information: such as age or date-of-birth information, grade level, school, city/state, program eligibility, and parent or guardian consent information where applicable.

Parent or guardian information: such as name, contact information, relationship to the student, and consent records.

Purpose and learning information: such as interests, strengths, goals, Purpose Assessment responses, SDG interests, reflections, skills, program progress, projects, prototypes, presentations, service, credentials, achievements, and Purpose Portfolio™ content.

Program information: such as applications, registrations, cohort or team participation, attendance, event participation, and program-related communications.

MentHER™, volunteer, facilitator, or partner information: such as professional information, training completion, program assignments, screening status, and information necessary to manage an approved role.

Technical information: which may include device, browser, authentication, security, access, and platform activity information needed to operate, secure, and improve our services.

How We Use Information

We may use information to:

Provide and administer programs and Purpose-OS experiences.

Create and manage accounts.

Determine program eligibility and permissions.

Obtain and document required consent.

Personalize student journeys and recommendations.

Support learning, mentoring, teams, projects, and Purpose Portfolio™ development.

Communicate with students and families about programs and experiences.

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and protect our systems.

Enforce Community Standards and investigate reported concerns.

Measure program participation and impact.

Meet legal, regulatory, contractual, safety, and safeguarding responsibilities.

Improve GSTW programs and experiences.

Information About Young People

We recognize that information about children and teens deserves special consideration.

GSTW intends to use age-appropriate participation, permissions, and parent/guardian consent processes where required.

The specific experience available to a student may depend upon age, eligibility, consent status, and program requirements.

We do not intend Purpose-OS to function as an unrestricted public social network for minors.

Purpose Portfolio™

Purpose Portfolio™ helps students document their growth and accomplishments. Portfolio content may include projects, skills, service, presentations, reflections, credentials, leadership experiences, and evidence of impact. Portfolio visibility and sharing should be intentional and subject to applicable account permissions, program requirements, age considerations, and consent settings.

Creating a Purpose Portfolio does not automatically mean that the portfolio is public.

How We Share Information

GSTW may share information when reasonably necessary to operate programs and services, including with vendors and service providers that perform functions on our behalf.

Depending on the program, limited information may also be shared with approved educators, facilitators, MentHERs™, partners, or other participants when necessary for the relevant experience and consistent with applicable permissions. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to protect rights or safety, or to investigate potential violations of our policies.

GSTW does not sell students' personal information to advertisers.

Data Minimization

We aim to collect information because it supports a defined program, learning, safety, operational, or legal purpose—not simply because information might be useful someday.

Data Security

GSTW uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information.

However, no digital system or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

We therefore avoid promising absolute security and continually evaluate safeguards appropriate to our services and the information we maintain.

Data Retention

We intend to retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and as required by applicable legal, contractual, safeguarding, and operational obligations. Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

Parent and Guardian Choices

Depending on applicable law and the relevant program, parents or guardians may have rights concerning information associated with their child, which may include rights to request access, correction, deletion, or changes to certain permissions or participation.

Instructions for submitting privacy requests will be provided through our designated privacy contact process.

Student Choices

As students grow, we want them to understand that privacy is part of responsible digital leadership.

Purpose-OS experiences provides age-appropriate information about what students are sharing, why information is requested, and how available sharing controls work.

Photos, Video and Media

GSTW programs and events may include photography, video, interviews, or other media. Where required, appropriate releases or permissions should be obtained separately from general platform participation. Participation in Purpose-OS should not automatically be treated as consent for unrestricted promotional use of a student's image or story.

Third-Party Services

GSTW may use third-party technology and service providers to operate websites, Purpose-OS, communications, registration, payment, age-assurance, background screening, analytics, events, or other functions. Those services may process information according to their role and applicable agreements.

Background Screening

Girls Save The World™ and Independence Gardens may require individuals seeking certain MentHER™, volunteer, staff, facilitator, or other youth-facing roles to complete a background screening as a condition of participation.

We currently use POINT Technologies, LLC ("POINT") to help administer volunteer management and Checkr, Inc. ("Checkr") as a third-party background-screening provider. When a background check is initiated through the POINT integration, POINT states that it transmits the individual's email address to Checkr so Checkr can provide the screening invitation. The individual then provides the information necessary to conduct the background check directly to Checkr.  Information submitted directly to Checkr is subject to Checkr's privacy practices and applicable terms. Checkr's current privacy policy describes its collection, use, disclosure, retention, security practices, and individual rights relating to personal information.

POINT states that it does not receive, access, or store the contents of the background-check report through this integration. POINT receives the status of the check, while the report is available to the organization that requested it.  GSTW may use screening information available to it to determine eligibility for roles involving interaction with young people, consistent with applicable law and organizational policies.

GSTW experiences may link to external websites or resources.

Those websites have their own privacy and security practices, and GSTW's Privacy Policy does not govern independent third-party websites.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our programs, technology, legal requirements, or practices evolve.

When material changes are made, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
